Hello! I found out about steamworks a few weeks ago online. I’ve been with struggling meeting people, getting out of my comfort zone, And with my self image lately, and steamworks sounds like it could help me with those things. I just want to make sure I wouldn’t be out of place or anything before planning a visit!
my first concern is I’m 18, pretty freshly so. I’m not sure if the demographic skews younger or older, but I’ve heard a lot of people are uncomfortable with newly legal adults, so I’m fine waiting a few years till I have more experience under my belt if it means not making anyone uncomfortable.
The second question is what is steamworks trans demographic like? I’m a pre-most-things trans woman, and it’d definitely be comforting knowing I’m not the only trans person there on my first visit, especially since there’s still quite a bit of insecurity and anxiety about that personally that I’m trying to work through.
I would suggest you fill out the info section of your profile page to describe who you are and what interests you have!
Then maybe read up on the trans section of SW topic section to find out more about trans folk who attend Trans Tuesdays( theme for Tuesdays attendees)
You will probably get a lot of attention from older folks with varying interests but a lot of genuinely helpful info!
If you chose to attend find someone you have chatted with on this forum you feel comfortable with or go on a Monday (Newbie theme) for a tour with a staff member or regular patron just to see what goes on and just leave and come back at a later date with a friend for comfort!
There are several great patrons that may help you feel comfortable when you do attend...just let them know it is your first time. Have a pleasant first visit and keep up chats on this forum!!! 👍😎

Don't worry about what other people think! This experience is for you. Get a room so you can have a safe space to relax, some privacy... take your time and explore!
The demographic definitely skews older from personal experience but everyone is there for the same reasons. Just say hello if someone catches your eye. And don't be afraid to say no! Consent is sexy 🙂

Best plan, go with an open mind and no serious expectations. Get a room for privacy and calming yourself if you get overwhelmed.
wander and explore, stop to watch the in public fun, and see if you would enjoy some of the fun ongoing.
Wear something on your feet for comfort and hygiene.
you will probably be quite popular, and after one visit, you will know what you are looking for.
