I'm a straight M, and I just wanted your guys opinions on going to steamworks to use the sauna and hot tub facilities (have been reading a lot on the benefits of sauna use via huberman) and otherwise just chill out and maybe passively people watch, but mostly keep to myself without the intention for intimacy? I guess my other questions also are:
- what temp are the saunas set to? 85-90C?
- your honest opinion: are the hot tubs relatively clean, like I don't expect pristine conditions given the traffic and audience but I shouldn't be concerned with contracting anything?
- excuse my ignorance on this one, just noticed there is a lot of gay community here as well, are they pushy towards guys after they communicate "not interested"?

Hi. Nothing wrong with going to have a soak and enjoy the view. People are very friendly and it isn't always about sex. Hot tub chat can be about anything. The water is nice and hot. Sorry don't know the exact temp.
Sexual activity is not allowed in the hot tub. And it's is treated regularly. Everyone much shower before going in and there are soap dispensers on the wall in the shower so it's handy.
People are respectful and a no thank you is sufficient. If anyone pushes past that, they need to be reported to the staff and that person would be kicked out.
There are mostly private rooms with doors. Doors can be open or closed depending on the people inside. There are 2 main public areas on the main floor. But if you just change and hit the hot tub downstairs you won't find them. Almost everyone strips down and wears a towel walking around. You get a towel at the door. It is suggested to wear flip flops while walking around.

The hot tub and sauna are very clean and well taken care of in my opinion! I wouldn't be concerned about it!
As Ray said before, there is NO sexual activites allowed in the hot tub and people are VERY accpecting of that! I tend to the hot tub quite a bit and I haven't seen anyone break the rule. Now as for the sauna, it's VERY sexually active, especially right now as the steam room is under construction. If you are coming to Steamworks to relax with minimal interaction and just enjoying the view, I would personally avoid the sauna. However, if you're fine with someone trying to engage and you just saying no then you should be fine, the patrons here are not pushy and accepting to declining!
Also I should point out that you should be realistic on your expectations about who you might be seeing naked. The majority of people here are men, even on Saturdays. So you might have to get lucky to see a female, or even one that you only might be attracted to.
TLDR; Hot tub and sauna are clean. No sexual activity in the hot tub. Sexual activity is very common in the sauna. Avoid sauna if you want total peace. Women can be scarce.
