Greetings fellow freaks!

I am a huge fan of SteamWorks but it's going to come to a point soon where I'm going to be going elsewhere if changes aren't made.

Jim, let's get real for a second. You're stuck in the 80's. You have a great 'concept' for your business I fully support but there are some MAJOR safety flaws that you need to address or you're going to go belly up and I mean that in the most kind, sincere way.

Jim, women do not feel safe at SteamWorks. FULL STOP. You really need to address thoroughly address this problem.  I bring women out to the club and I assure them I will personally supervise their experience so they can feel safe.  This is a gigantic red stop sign you need to stop ignoring and DEAL WITH IT.

You had a good thing going with a female host.  Now the position is gone because you're not making enough income. Why aren't you making enough income? Because the position is gone.

In this day and age, 2020's (the 80's were 40 years ago) women expect to be treated with dignity and respect. Your club does not value these attributes in the guests it attracts. Your club attracts late night bar crawlers and dudes that can't get laid no matter how hard they try.  Do you know what attracts men to a sex club? WOMEN.

So by this logic, it's time for you to really think about the future of SteamWorks and how you ALLOW women to be treated in YOUR ESTABLISHMENT. That's right Jim, the onus is actually on you.

I've got some suggestions and some great ideas to help you.  First things first, if you want WOMEN to feel SAFE you need to give them a SPACE to feel SAFE in. Do you know why women hide in their rooms all night mostly? You guessed it, they don't feel safe exposed.  How do we fix that? Simple...you need to demolish the captain's room and the office space and turn the entire upstairs lounge into an ACTUAL lounge. An area where WOMEN can hang out in GROUPS OF PEOPLE, supervised by staff. Where they can mingle SAFELY with men.  Where women can make an assessment of a guys nature in a PUBLIC area and choose to play or not play.

No one I know likes the downstairs lounge, I'm sorry Jim but it's the truth. It's too humid, it's too hot and it's kinda weird to just go down there and sit and watch TV.  There's nothing "to do" in the lounge.  There's also nothing "to do" in the lounge upstairs.  If you removed the captain's room you will solve another problem immediately, and that is WOMEN BEING FOLLOWED BY MEN. Your corridors were a good idea a long time ago, but now they scare women. I've RAN from men in those hallways.  You couldn't possibly understand because you're not a woman, but let me tell you there are some men that come to Steamworks to HUNT for women and they don't give up. For me, it's not an issue because I'll start hollering and kick their asses right out. But I've been around a few years.  What about the NEW WOMEN coming to the club? How do you think they feel when they get hunted?  They feel strongly enough that they'll never come back, that's what they feel.

And you wonder why last night it was dead as a door nail until about 9-10pm when the people from the bars started to show up. Then us women have to deal with then assessing the drunk guys safety risk if we play with them.

Jim, if you want to keep your business alive it's time to start listening to the WOMEN who like to come to Steamworks.  Start having basic standards of respect and decency to the men who frequent the place.  Get a membership program going already for crying out loud.  Take safety seriously and you will see a turn around. But if you keep ignoring it a few things are going to happen...you'll continue to lose new business and you're going to lose the support of some of your loyal guests like myself.  I don't want to have to start explaining to people why they shouldn't go to Steamworks, I'd much rather help your business profit.  But if you're not going to be the change, I will be and I'll help keep women safe by actively steering them away from your place of business.

I'd love to hear other guests feedback on my perspective and ideas for Jim. Please feel free to add your own. Change needs to happen and it needs to happen right now.

Much love 😘

Another thing Jim, I protected your staff member last night while she was working.

Two guests had an altercation by Fuck Alley, she was trying to talk to them. Men kept coming around the corner, right up behind her to see what was going on. She was clearly in a very unsafe situation.

I got up, walked down the hallway and put my body in the hallway so men couldn't come up behind her while she was dealing with two angry naked men.

She was UNSAFE in her place of employment and I, your paying guest, chose to stop what I was doing to PROTECT HER FROM POSSIBLE HARM.

THIS.

IS.

NOT.

OKAY.

Not for your staff. Not for your paying guests. Not for you.

Heres some input from a person who hasn't even ever been to SteamWorks...

JIM, this person is heavily involved in the lifestyle as a leader. This is what the general publics opinion of your business model is!!!! Wake up PLEASE and start working towards change that WORKS for 2025!!!

I'm not chiming in since I've never actually gone there so it would just be assumptions, and don't have a steam talk account.

But the reason I haven't gone is week described by you there Dee.

"stuck in the 80's" is a good point.

Everything I've heard about the place feels like it's still trying to be a 70's-80's gay "protection space" bathhouse. Which worked at the time because straight guys didn't go there, and gay guys needed a protective space for mingling and fucking because they were ostracized or barred from lifestyle clubs, bars, and hotels.

But it's 2025, and gay guys don't really need that space anymore, so clientele of that type has dropped, and now their bread and butter seems to be creepy straight guys that can't get laid and get kicked out of everywhere else because of a complete lack of social skills and decorum.

The place just reeks of creepy and uncomfortable from everything I've seen and heard of the place.

And here's some more!

They're now competing with much classier and nicer lifestyle clubs like IT and Club-R, and the dark, creepy, unsafe, cum stained, walls of steamworks just doesn't hold up.

There's still room for a bathhouse sex space in the area, one that's based around hedonistic fucking, instead of dancing and drinking like IT and Club-R is.

But they need to make some big changes and clean the place up, and do some rebranding if that's to happen IMO

As a woman who attends Steamworks on a regular basis, and has an event hosting/production background, I would love an oppentunity to share some of my insights with the owner.

I have personally experienced the points brought up in this post. I also advocate for women to be able to express themselves and safely enjoy a space that should be inclusive of EVERYONE'S needs.

I will refrain from posting my opinions on this thread as I beleive this should be a conversation.

Hopefully as a whole we can come together as a community and have productive conversations about a space that is safe and inviting for everyone.

Heres some feedback from a woman who's never been to Steamworks:

I’ve never been but I agree if I don’t feel safe I would shut it down immediately but I also got a firecracker mouth and ain’t scared of much anymore so but I do fear for quieter women

I agree with a lot of what you said. I was there last night with my sub and the vibe has been off for a while and I have been going regularly for 4 or 5 years. Lately, we rarely stay the full 5 hours because it isnt all that great anymore and guys are weirder and nof that respectful as much. Last night, we noticed men tend to follow almost to the point of stalking around. This is a rule it is not being applied anymore or men forgot to behave.

I agree a membership is a great idea. I realize some people like to go there to enjoy anonymity but in this day and age, there is no more of that. On that matter,,  I have seen an uptick of people on their phones all over the club and that is not ok. I dont want my face end up on the internet ever. My sub went by herself this summer and had exchanged contact information with someone she met that night, but a few weeks ago, that someone messaged her and told her he has a video he.recorded of her being fucked in the swing. How did.that happen? She doesn't know. Does the video actually exist? She doesn't but it is creepy as fuck to think it even exist. This was brought forward to management but what is there to do, probably not much.

I agree wjth the downstairs lounge, it doesn't serve much purpose but unsure what you.can do with it. Maybe the new captain should be down there instead of the lounge.

We go on average 6 to 8 times a month.and she go occasionally on her own but 2 weeks ago, she decided that she would not go alone anymore, because of how lots of.men are behaving.  So this along with OP story, should be a strong hint. Creepy men need to go or this place will not survive.  Because without women, there is no viable steamwork.

A message from a woman who just started attending Steamworks last month:

I agree with what you wrote about SW.

it needs a makeover. It is very dark dingy and creepy. The photos they use on their site are very deceiving. It looks classy online but the complete opposite in person. The men are a massive issue. There is no vetting process so the women are not safe. There’s a reason I won’t go unless you or M are there.

@jessica I have a TW/CD friend who sent me some footage from SW of them basically being raped by men at the club. In the video they are actively saying no and the man just goes ahead and does his thing...and they felt this was a "normal" way to be treated. They thought the video would turn me on!!!!!  I had to inform them that in fact it was sexual assault and they should never be treated that way.

ALL WOMEN, INCLUDING TRANS & CD, SHOULD FEEL SAFE AND HAVE AN EXPECTATION OF BEING SAFE AT THE CLUB.

More feedback for you Jim!

I’ve long considered going to SW, if for no other reason than out of morbid curiosity, and I hear a very mixed bag of reviews. I trust you @CrzyDee and the story you share, I refuse to be a part of any organization that knowingly allows their staff and/or clientele to feel afraid to be within their walls.

Sex and sex clubs are supposed to be fun for all, if part of the clientele are uncomfortable because of the other part, or the negligence of the owner/staff, there’s a massive fundamental problem that needs addressing immediately.

These sorts of clubs were god sends for the LGBTQ community nearly 50 years ago, but now, while there still is a place for them, they aren’t as “needed” as once before. Immediate changes need to be implemented if that club is to survive.

Maybe the id checks might not be the best solution, but I get the sentiment. Something drastic needs to change asap, I know for me personally, I will not be attending SW unless in a large group (I don’t take kindly to “unwanted” aggressive men and need peers to keep me from acting on impulse) and I will actively deter any women I know who want to check it out until such time that changes are made.

Dee feel free to quote me on steamtalk, I don’t have a login and refuse (now) to sign up.

Yet another opinion from a long-standing lifestyler....

Couldn't agree more, I've been there once with a friend many years ago and as someone who's worked in bars, strip clubs and similar life style clubs I was appalled by how a lot of men acted and the fact that little to nothing was done about their actions. I can't see bringing my wife there anytime soon until some serious changes are made. Making it a member's only club would help immensely with getting rid of problem people, same with additional security.
