I think Steamworks management should take a survey of all members on this site as to their feelings of security on leaving their ID. The risk of losing your ID to a thief will not be covered for any losses because of volunteering to leave you ID with basically a stranger. I hope it doesn't come to a Boycott of Steamworks but I for one will wait and see what happens on here before going to Steamworks. I've enjoyed my time going there and will sadly miss those times if this policy is put into place.
I like that the two times I've been I don't recall having to leave an ID. That being said, SW should demonstrate to patrons that their belongings are kept locked in a safe place. Or create a badge that patrons can scan or show upon entry after they've been for a first visit. I do prefer anonymity.

I've been attending for years.
As I did with vaccine requirements, I will not be attending if having to show or leave my ID.
I'll be back once this changes.
Well, for a business that sells privacy, intimacy, safety and cleanliness, it seems that the management is failing to meet the standards for any and all of those sale points.
I believe it to be illegal to ask for an ID and record private information in a completely unsafe environment and by staff that has no permission to do so.
The issue of occassional vandalizam and destruction of property within the contfines of this business could and should be sorted out in a different way.
The management should be willing to pursue a different course of action and cover the cost associated with it in order to prove to its customers that it values their privacy. The imposing of ID checking and recording does anything and everything except proving to patrons that their privacy is closely guarded and respected.
On a personal note, the management had lost my business, and that will remain so for as long as the ID issue remains in place.
